The greatest reward of being a photographer is in the enjoyment of all I see. The photograph is the end point of that enjoyment.
The photographer is often characterized as a hunter, a stalker of a vision, which he captures, collects and owns. Not so for me. All I manage in that mode is to capture what’s been seen before.
I see my role as a medium. The images you see on this site are images that captured me, not images I captured. My job is to stay attuned to the physical world and then use my skills and training to make the visions that appear to me appear to you. Of course, to be open to the glory is to be open to ignominy. You’ll find some of each here.
Looking back, my work has consistently been an invitation to look. My current project, “The War To End All Wars” will be ready soon. It’s a massive piece (90×60”) composed of hundreds of layers inset into a dark urban landscape. It invites us to engage with the angels against the demons in our midst.
I hope you enjoy your time on my site, and I hope you decide to invest if something here captures you too.
